cyclesThe Perth Hills National Parks Centre, located on Allen Rd, 7 km south of Mundaring is a great place to get information on exploring national parks in the Perth hills. There are many trails available from here, including the famous Bibbulmun Track (which passes through the middle of the Centre) and the close by Munda Biddi Off-Road Cycling Trail.

A stone's throw from the Mahogany Inn is the timeless John Forrest National Park. Western Australia's first national park covers more than 1,500 hectares of land and offers excellent bush walking, mountain biking, scenic drives and seasonal rock pools ideal for swimming. For a casual stroll or for the adventurous bushwalker there are extensive walking trails within the Park; then retreat back to the Inn for a well-earned drink, a hearty meal and a comfortable bed!

wineCharming boutique wineries are located only short distances from the Mahogany Inn. Lion Mill, Darlington Estate and Lake Charlotte wineries all offer wine tasting and tempting meals. Why not spend a day or two exploring the region, get to know the wine makers and enjoy easygoing, everyday 'Hills' hospitality! And of course, the Inn carries an excellent selection of quality wines from local wineries for your enjoyment with lunch or dinner.

Visit tranquil Lake Leschenaultia for canoeing, swimming, cycling, walking, bird watching or just a nap on the grass. Barbecues and picnics can be enjoyed in this scenic, bushland park and also at the Sculpture Park in Mundaring.

Don't miss the historic Mundaring Weir and the Number 1 Pump Station Museum, which commemorates the engineering feat to provide water to the Eastern Goldfields at the beginning of the last century. Bring your camera and record tomorrow's history.

With low mid week rates there is no better time spend a few days at the historic Mahogany Inn and enjoy, at your leisure, local arts & crafts studios and the galleries, the animal sanctuary, the beautiful Heritage Rose Garden, the Mundaring Markets (every 2nd Sunday of the month), and even catch a movie under the stars at the Kookaburra Outdoor Cinema (Nov to April).
